It’s been a busy few weeks here at Ixis, but we’re pleased to announce not one but two new homes!
We've now moved into Manchester, to the Bruntwood Together co-working space on Portland Street, leaving behind our office at the Brew House in Stockton Heath. However, we also have a new office near to this too, at The Base in central Warrington.
Our journey so far has taken us from an innovation/incubator space in Daresbury, to a more traditional office in Stockton Heath and now into central Warrington and Manchester city centre.
We also doubled our team in 2014, and are looking to grow again in 2017.
Over the last few years, we’ve had lots of interest from talent in the Drupal space who are based around Manchester, but commuting outside of the city centre was often an issue. Hopefully a new central location will help with this next phase of expansion.
We also introduced remote working two years ago and it proved to be a great success, with most of our staff working at least a day or two per week from home. It felt like we weren’t making the most of our 2,000 square foot office, however, hence the approach of having multiple offices spread out across the North West.
After having traditional leases for over 10 years it’s nice to do something different by embracing the collaborative workspace approach. We’ve committed to five desks initially and are in discussions to move to Bruntwood’s Neo space once it opens in early 2017 (let me know if there are any others we should be looking at ;)
On a personal level, I’ve also invested in various Manchester based companies, and the city’s tech scene is thriving.
It’s something we’re very much looking forward to being part of!
