We secured another major public sector contract with the Care Quality Commission, via the government’s G-Cloud procurement framework.

We were appointed to provide managed hosting and support services to health and care watchdog the Care Quality Commission. This involved migrating 2 sites, www.cqc.org.uk and www.healthwatch.co.uk to our infrastructure and an ongoing maintenance and support contract post launch.

We provided a solution to transition the CQC and Health Watch England sites and their range of Javascript Applications onto our infrastructure and support service. The sites were originally built on Drupal and managed by a large consultancy firm. Once this contract came to an end, Ixis was commissioned to migrate the sites onto our hosting infrastructure to provide proactive monitoring and performance optimisation services. In particular, we undertook a health check to review the code, custom modules and infrastructure performance and then provided a sprint of work to fix broken code and poorly performing modules.

Once the transition was completed onto our systems, our web operations and systems administration personnel then began to optimise performance and proactively monitor and scale servers and infrastructure at peak traffic times.

Technology highlights:

  • Full migration from other provider and testing

  • 24/7 monitoring & support of custom modules

  • Content delivery network & load balancing across multiple availability zones

  • Public cloud infrastructure including auto-scaling

  • Performance troubleshooting and optimisation

  • Disaster recovery configuration & support.

This contract is key to our strategy to deliver digital services to the public sector and this contract demonstrates the trust in our ability to provide agile, iterative, digital development methodologies and the security of our robust hosting platforms.
