Meet Andy Rigby, Senior developer at Ixis and one of the four Andrews currently working for the company
Andy joined Ixis in late 2013 and has since established himself as a firm favourite amongst the staff here at Ixis. You would struggle to find a problem he can’t fix, as is the case with all our Development team.
Graduating from University with a degree in Computer Science, Andy began his career in web development over 15 years ago. First specialising in PHP, he turned his development skills to the world of Drupal when joining Ixis and hasn’t looked back since.
Receiving his first ever computer at the age of 5, the famous ZX Spectrum, Andy’s love for all things computing blossomed and so it seemed a natural progression that he would want to further his education on the subject thus choosing computer science at university. Furthering his education is still something he is still passionate about and when, earlier this year, Ixis provided him with the opportunity to pursue the Zend Certified PHP engineer qualification he jumped at the chance. Unsurprisingly he passed the exam which only further served to enhance his blossoming reputation within the Ixis staff.
Outside of the office, Andy is kept busy, caring for his 2 year old son and I think most can attest to the challenges toddlers so often present. When he can find the time, fishing is a popular past time of his, as well as geocaching, a popular treasure hunting game using GPS to hide and track different objects.
